We are leaping into Summer with these fun lily pad rosettes made with our EK Success Paper Crimper. A fun Summer decoration for table centerpieces, baby showers, and more! We would love to see what you make with our EK Tools so remember to tag us in your projects!.Instructions:Cut 3 paper strips 3 inches wide.Use the EK Success Paper Crimper to indent the paper.Fold at the creases to give a solid zig-zag effect.Use double-sided tape to adhere the ends together. Lay the paper down so that it rests on a flat surface and hot glue the center together.Use the EK circle punch to cut a 1 1/2 inch circle and press it into the hot glue. Because it’s mermay, I was inspired too make these “mermaid dollars!” I cut out paper and a plastic, sewn the edges with string and dumped glitter in between. It’s surprisingly not that messy lol 😂

Hey! So, this is the first project I made at EK. The objective was to make paper birds and up cycling tin cans. This project is very special to me, not only because it was my first one, but because of what its marks within my journey as an artistic and over all progression through life.

When I was in college, for some reason I had this “amazing” idea that I would make all my projects from craft paper for my 2D and 3D design classes. Watercolors and colored pencils were not on my radar, but certainly would have been much easier that dealing with messy glue and trying to layer things perfectly.

Thinking back to all my terrible (like seriously aaaawful) college projects, and now seeing where I am today, I am very proud of myself. I’ve turned my creative ambitions into a career, and designing a lifestyle that continues to evolve.

I know you see some paper birds in a tin can, but for me, I see the result of a young woman determined to make her creativity her lifestyle.

To my 2D and 3D profesor, @marcboyson, Look! I’m stilling cutting paper! And I’m getting paid for it! 😁Thank you for teaching me so much about craftsmanship and allowing me to make a huge mess with all my projects in the back of the class. I’m happy to say that all my messiness lead me to getting this career! 🤗
