I think I always knew I was going to be a graphic designer. I have always enjoyed art more than any other subject. You could say that I was destined to be a creative professional. However, I didn’t practice my trumpet and I didn’t get the lead in the high school musical, so I decided I would become a graphic designer. With graphic design, I could do everything I love from illustrations, logos, advertisements and beyond. Now that I have invested 4 years in my graphic design career I have discovered 10 signs that prove I am definitely a graphic designer.

You buy things just because the packaging is cool!
I love going to gourmet food stores to see the creative packaging. It can be so inspiring and mouth waterings at the same time.
You think that a new brand redesign is more exciting that the latest celebrity news
Personally, I could careless to know that Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus is doing, I would rather be on Pinterest looking at beautiful brand designs.
You become enraged by bad design.
When I visit my bank, there is a bulletin board full of business cards and local service advertisements. It was obvious that these things were made in Microsoft Word, and it makes me cringe. Maybe this would be a good place to offer your services too. 🙂
You know that fonts were made with personalities.

You never leave the house without your sketchbook!
Forgetting your sketchbook would be like walking out the door without pants! And you probably have a Moleskine!
You don’t skip over ads in magazines.
Magazines are beautiful and everything is worth looking at.
You have more Pinterest boards then you have facebook friends.
Oh, Pinterest… I love you, we all love you!
You can’t go out to eat without critiquing the menu.
There are a ton of really bad menus. I really love when the menu has a symbol for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free. (Thumbs-up)
You know that books really are judged by their cover.
If the cover looks inspiring, then you’re inspired to read it, right?
You love learning new things.
You want your designs to continue to get better, therefore, you continue to learn how to do things differently or better to gain new insights. Remember knowledge is power.
